MITCH Robinson has revealed what Lions Captain Tom Rockliff said to the team after Sunday’s disappointing loss to the Sydney Swans at the Gabba.
After the match, Rockliff pulled the team into a huddle on the ground and spoke to them before going into the changerooms.
"He (Rockliff) just reminded us, and went over the game and said, 'Look boys this is the benchmark for how we want to play this year,' ” Robinson said on the latest instalment of the From The Players’ Lounge Podcast.
Rockliff also said, "If we bring that intensity and that attack on the footy, then we can challenge most teams.
"Sydney being one of the best teams in the comp over the last ten years, if we can match it with them and we know that’s worked previously in the year, when we don’t come in with that attitude we get blown out of the water," said Rockliff.
"He (Rockliff) was just reinforcing – 'Look boys be proud of yourself, but be disappointed that we came so close and lost. But let’s just take some positives out of it and bring that next week,' " said Robinson.
