They might have only played 23 senior AFL games between them, but Michael Close and Daniel McStay have obviously done enough in only a short time to endear themselves to Brisbane Lions members.
Such is their rising popularity, Close and McStay are the only Lions players to have ‘sold out’ of player sponsorships across both Queensland and Victoria.
Each player is limited to a maximum of four player sponsors in each state, with the promising young pair the first to reach their national quota for 2015.
But Close and McStay aren’t the only players to have generated plenty of interest.
All player sponsorships for Nick Robertson, Josh Clayton, and Darcy Gardiner have been exhausted in Queensland (although are still available in Victoria), while Allen Christensen, Josh Green, Dayne Beams, Daniel Rich, Pearce Hanley, Lewy Taylor, Tom Rockliff, and Mitch Golby are all sold out in Victoria (with availabilities in Queensland).
Only limited spots also remain for Jack Redden, Marco Paparone, Cian Hanley, Justin Clarke, and Jordon Bourke.
Approximately 150 Lions members have already signed up as player sponsors in 2015, and will receive a range of benefits, including two tickets to the annual players sponsors function.
Prospective player sponsors in Victoria are encouraged to sign up soon as their exclusive function will be held following the team’s Round 2 match against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Sunday 12 April.
The player sponsor function in Queensland is scheduled for later in the year – on Tuesday 9 June at the Gabba.
