The boys are feeling fresh and ready to hit the end of the Season hard after the Bye Round break.
On this week’s From The Players’ Lounge Podcast the boys discussed how the feeling is around the group since the break. Jackson Paine said that despite the fact that the boys have been training hard all year, he believes a session earlier this week was one of the best he’s had at the Club.
“We just had, I reckon, one of the best training sessions I’ve had at this Club, and I don’t say that lightly or jokingly at all,“ Paine said.
“The intensity was up, the excitement to be out there was up.
“I think the bye has done really good things. I don’t just say that for the sake of it.”
Mitch Robinson agreed, saying that the boys have come back and hit the track in high spirits.

“It was just good to see that, you can fall into the holiday mode, so it was good that we came back last week on the Friday, and got a session in before this week,” he said.
“We really trained well with a bit of intent today (Tuesday), which is good.
“It was exciting to get back and everyone was on the track.”
The boys are also looking forward to finishing the 2016 Season on a positive note, admitting the Season, so far, has been ‘unsuccessful’, but there are goals set to end the year well.
“We’ve had a pretty unsuccessful year,” Paine admitted.
“We’re looking forward to the next month of footy. Four games, four winnable games, where we can stamp some authority on the league and, as the old cliché goes, take some momentum into next year.
“We just really want a focus of being competitive each week.”
Mitch Robinson drew from last year’s final game against the Bulldogs at the Gabba, saying that a strong finish can make a big difference.
“Even just winning that Bulldogs game last year, really put into perspective what we can do at our best.
“I see four games we can definitely win, and be well competitive in other ones. We’ll push some teams.
“Hopefully we can win some games for the fans.”
The last win the Brisbane Lions had was against the SUNS at the Gabba in Round 4, and the boys can take a lot of confidence out of that, despite the SUNS coming off a 40-point win against St Kilda.
“We’re going in with full confidence,” said Robinson.
“We’ve got a pretty strong team this week, and I think we’ll come out and get the job done again.
“I believe that we will get the win, and kick start the end of our Season.”
