AFTER taking a commanding lead at quarter time, the Lions were beaten by St Kilda at the Gabba yesterday. Although it was a dissapointing result for the Lions, there were some key players who stood up to be counted.
Stefan Martin was strong in the ruck with 31 hit-outs, seven clearances and collected 25 possessions.
Dayne Beams, once again saw plenty of the footy. He had a game high 38 disposals and seven tackles.
Ryan Lester also booted four goals and proved the unlikely answer to the question of who would fill the void up forward left by the injured Daniel McStay.
