The Brisbane Lions' landed their preferred man at the National Draft in Adelaide this evening, taking Murray Bushrangers forward Josh Schache at Pick No. 2.
Schache has had a standout season playing key-forward. He won the Larke Medal after a brilliant display in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and slotted 62 goals this year, including a personal best of eight on the road against Western Australia.
His late father, Laurence Schache, played 29 games for the Brisbane Bears in 1991-92 and was the Club's leading goal kicker in his debut season, booting 47 goals in 17 games.
The Seymour-based Schache will relocate to Brisbane in the coming weeks.
