Stefan Martin: Hi guys Stefan here. Sorry for the delay our internet is a bit slow atm but we're online now so i'm keen to talk to you guys
Bitzo: gday stefan, how are you settling in up in brisbane?
Stefan Martin: Hi Bitzo, thanks for your question. I'm loving it up here the people are great the weather is amazing and the club is great too
Jess: Hi Stefan, has the move been easier with Brent Moloney coming to Brisbane as well?
Stefan Martin: Hi Jess, you'd think so but unfortunately he doesn't think i'm cool enough to hang out with
Pat: Hi Stefan, where do you see your role with the team this year?
Stefan Martin: Hi Pat, I think probably a bit in the forward line and a bit in the ruck at this stage
Andrew: Thanks for coming to the Lions. How has it been going for you?
Stefan Martin: Hi Andrew, thanks for the welcome! I feel lucky to be here at this great club
Ben: Hey Stefan, do you live with any of the other boys up here?
Stefan Martin: Yeah Ben I live with Ro Bewick and Dan Rich
Phil: A warm welcome to the Lions Stefan. How are you adjusting to life at a new club?
Stefan Martin: Thanks Phil! I love it here, it's hard work but hopefully it'll pay off this year
Gai: Hi Stefan! How are you liking Queensland?
Stefan Martin: I love qld, it's a lot less hectic than melbourne and the weather is much nicer too
Andrew: Looking from the outside there seems good competition for most spots. Fair assessment?
Stefan Martin: I'd say thats true Andrew. There are lots of guys training really well and so training is very competitive so hopefully that results in a lot of depth in our team which can only be a good thing
Phil: Stefan, any particular aspect of your game or fitness you are working on?
Stefan Martin: I think these days repeat speed is really important and so that's an area that I'm always looking to get better at.
Soph: Hi Stefan, have the boys played any pranks on you yet? Seems to be a big thing up here. Did you get much of that in Melbourne?
Stefan Martin: It seems that's a common thread no matter which club you go to because there was a lot of that at Melbourne and there is here too. Luckily i haven't been on the end of any pranks yet but i'm sure it's just a matter of time
Gary: Considering you excelled at high school and are a stand out intellectual, do you find it difficult relating or even communicating with most footballers?
Stefan Martin: Hi Gary, most footballers are fairly switched on these days because you have to be to have a good grasp of the game plan and also to be a professional in many different ways. I certainly don't feel that I can't communicate with the guys, the stereotype of the dumb footballer is exaggerated in my opinion
Benji: Hey Stefan are you looking forward to the family fun day this weekend? I hope i get to meet you!!!
Stefan Martin: It'd be great to meet you too Benji. Yes we're all really looking forward to meeting all the supporters and having a great day at Yeronga football club
Sam: How is Billy Longer coming along as a ruckman? He is looking a lot bigger this year? Is the size affecting his fitness?
Stefan Martin: Hi Sam, Billy's a very talented and strong player, especially for a 19 year old! His fitness seems to be improving all the time with each session
Phil: Seem to recall you did well in the 2km time trial. Have the young guys like Paparone and Close impressed you with their running?
Stefan Martin: Yeah Phil their running ability is amazing and put guys like me to shame
Stacey: Hi Stefan. Looking forward to seeing you out there this year hopefully! What are the details for the Family Fun Day? Would love to come along!
Stefan Martin: Thanks Stacey! The details are this Saturday, 2-6pm at Yeronga Football Club. Free entry and bring the whole family and friends!
Gotta get back to training now guys so thank you very much for all your questions. Sorry if I didn't answer your question but I hope to see you at the family day and chat then. Go Lions!
