Brisbane Lions Vice-Captain Dayne Zorko has been named in Mark Robinson's Top 50 players in the competition after a big Season in the Maroon, Blue and Gold.
Robinson, the Chief Football Writer at the Herald Sun, had Dayne Zorko in position 48, sitting between Bulldog's Matthew Boyd (47) and Jack Macrae (49) in his annual top 50 list.
Zorko's terrific Season was rewarded with the Club's Merrett-Murray Medal at the Lions' Club Champion awards night, his second in two years.
Zorko played 20 games in 2016 and celebrated his 100th match in Round 22.
He was our best against Collingwood in Round 8, kicking four goals in the Lions’ big loss to Collingwood, and played one of the best halves seen by a Brisbane Lions player in recent seasons against Carlton in Round 21.
Zorko finished 2016 with 5 Brownlow votes, polling one in Round 4 against the SUNS, two votes in Round 6 against the Swans and two votes in Round 21.
According to AFL's Schick Player Ratings Zorko is the tenth best player in the competition, sitting one position behind Cyril Rioli. He is rated in position two in the competition as a Midfielder-Forward sitting behind Port Adelaide's Robbie Gray.
