Jonathan Brown says re-signed forward Josh Green will be the ‘player to watch’ at the Brisbane Lions in 2014.
Brown expects the Tasmanian goal-sneak, who is approaching his fourth AFL season, to become a more regular fixture in the senior side and potentially even start rotating through the midfield.
“I think Josh Green is going to go to the next level,” Brown told afl.com.au as part of his ‘Footy Forecast’.
“With Dayne Zorko and Josh Green, we’ve got a pretty good one-two punch in the forward line, and he’ll start to push more into the midfield.”
Brown also predicted things from Jordan Lisle, Sam Mayes and first round draftee James Aish.
“I always keep an eye on the big forwards, and Jordy Lisle’s had a really good pre-season and I’m hoping he can have a really good year,” Brown said.
“It remains to be seen, but young James Aish – our first round pick – has looked really good in the pre-season so far. Him and Sam Mayes might form a formidable combination over the next few years as outside-type midfielders.”
