The Brisbane Lions today acquired 2009 Coleman Medalist and All-Australian full-forward Brendan Fevola from Carlton as part of the AFL's Trade Week.

Fevola has been traded to the Club together with Carlton's second round draft selection (Pick No.27 overall) in exchange for 19 year-old Lachlan Henderson and the Lions' first round draft selection (Pick No.12 overall).

The former Carlton spearhead kicked a competition-high 86 goals this season - just one goal more than Lions Captain Jonathan Brown - to secure the second Coleman Medal of his career.

He played alongside Brown with Victoria in the AFL's Hall of Fame Tribute Match in 2008 when they were keys to the Big V's victory over the Dream Team. Fevola kicked six goals to win the Allen Aylett Medal as the best afield in the AFL exhibition match.

The 28 year-old has kicked 575 career goals in 187 games to rank third on Carlton's all-time goal-kickers list. His average of 3.07 goals per game is also the highest of any current player in the AFL competition.

Fevola becomes the fifth player to join the Club during the exchange period together with Brent Staker (West Coast), Amon Buchanan (Sydney Swans), Andrew Raines (Richmond) and Xavier Clarke (St Kilda).

Henderson departs the Lions after two seasons with the Club which produced 15 matches and three goals. The key position prospect will now move home to Victoria to join the Blues.

The Club passes on its best wishes to Lachlan for the remainder of his AFL career.
