Captain Jonathan Brown provided the most public example of the team’s commitment recently, when he was hit by a car while riding his bike on the Gold Coast.
Thankfully Brown escaped serious injury - walking away with just 10 stitches in his elbow and “a couple of dings here and there”.
The rest of his Lions teammates, meanwhile, seem to have been able to keep out of harm’s way during their cross-training sessions.
Lions Strength and Conditioning Coach Matt Hass recently told lions.com.au that all players had to complete mandatory sessions before they return for official duties, while those senior players headed to Arizona next month have been assigned a modified program to prepare them for high altitude training.
Some of the Lions players - including new recruit Brent Moloney - have even been keeping fans updated on their training progress via Twitter.
