The Brisbane Lions have officially passed the 10,000 member mark over the weekend - two weeks ahead of last year’s tally.

The Lions’ broke through the milestone on the weekend and - ahead of its Reserved Seat deadline - saw a further increase this morning, with the current tally sitting at 10,696.

Brisbane Lions CEO, Malcolm Holmes, said:

“We launched our 2013 membership with the slogan Because Pride is Within, and our members have certainly shown that they have that pride in our football Club.

“Our member numbers are well ahead of last year’s, and we have seen a terrific response to extras such as player sponsorships and coaches club members.

“We’re delighted to welcome our first 10,000 members for 2013, and I look forward to watching that number rise even more as we head into the new year.”

Prices have been either frozen or reduced for 2013. A whopping 1,417 Victorian members have already signed up - over two months ahead of the Club's 2012 numbers.

There has been a significant uptake of members signing up to the Loyal Lion monthly payment plan - another way that the Brisbane Lions are making memberships more affordable.
