Retired Brisbane Lions champion Jonathan Brown will tour regional areas of Victoria as part of the AFL's Legends Lap of Honour.
Brown, along with fellow high-profile retirees Lenny Hayes, Daniel Giansiracusa, Darren Jolly, and Campbell Brown, will replicate their AFL Grand Final lap of honour across 15 regional Victorian towns.
It’s great news for Lions fans in some of these areas, who will now get the opportunity to farewell the three-time premiereship-winning centre half-forward.
Brown will appear in selected regions as part of the three-week lap of honour, starting this Wednesday when he and Campbell Brown head to Maryborough – the home town of current Lions skipper, Jed Adcock.
Brown said he’s looking forward to saying goodbye to his fans.
“The lap of honour around the MCG is a great tradition - with your kids in the back and a packed stadium. It’s great to be able to go beyond the MCG and reach out to country Victorians,” the proud Warrnambool product said.
