The Brisbane Lions will once again provide fans with an opportunity to get up close and personal with the players and coaches at family events to be held early in 2014.

The Brisbane Lions’ annual pre-season family event in Victoria will be held on the evening of Friday 14 February 2014 at The Park (36 Lakeside Drive, Albert Park) from 4pm till 7pm (prior to the team’s departure back to Brisbane).

Admission into the Victorian Family Afternoon is FREE and includes a range of activities suitable for the whole family.

The entire travelling squad will be in attendance, giving fans a chance to catch up with their favourite players – along with some new faces – in a relaxed environment.

It will also be the first chance for many fans to officially welcome new Senior Coach Justin Leppitsch back into the fold, and also congratulate recently retired champion Simon Black on a wonderful playing career.

The event has been moved to an evening timeslot due to the Lions being scheduled a mid-week NAB Challenge match against Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium on Thursday 13 February.

The Club hopes that all fans can get along to The Park after work/school to spend some valuable time with the team before the start of the season – particularly given the Lions aren’t scheduled to play again in Victoria until Round 9 against North Melbourne.

As well as catching up with the players and coaches, fans will be able to sign up as a 2014 member and purchase a wide range of merchandise – including the latest BLK on-field apparel – at the Lions Shop.

There will also be plenty of other activities such as the popular photo booth, jumping castle, face painting, and football drills spread throughout the venue – most of which is housed indoors to accommodate the ever-unpredictable Melbourne weather.
