The Brisbane Lions will head into the final hours of the 2012 AFL Trade Period with an eye on potentially adding another mature player to the Club.

The official Trade Period ends strictly at 2pm (Melbourne time) on Friday, so keep posted to lions.com.au for regular updates throughout the day.

The Lions have already signed former Melbourne midfielder Brent Moloney as a Free Agent, but have made no secret of their desire to bring in another ready-made player to bolster their big-man stocks.

National Talent Manager Rob Kerr told lions.com.au at the beginning of the Trade Period that the Club wasn’t expecting to be overly active.

“While we would like to add a mature player to our list, we are not looking to bring a swag of mature players in,” Kerr said.

“It's possible that we’ll bring in one, two, or even none.”

Most recently the Lions have been linked to Stefan Martin, although a potential deal for the Melbourne forward/ruckman seems to have stalled with the Club unwilling to give up their second round draft selection (Pick No.33 overall).

Alternative options will no doubt come to the surface when all clubs meet for the final time this morning at Etihad Stadium, but there is still no guarantee that the Lions will be making any further changes.

The Lions currently have three valuable selections inside the first two rounds of next month’s AFL National Draft (Picks 8, 24 and 33) and are intent on keeping all of them - unless, of course, they receive an offer that’s too good to refuse.
