Simon Black is back on track to play his 300th game at the Gabba after being named in the Lions' Round 4 team to take on the Gold Coast this Saturday night.

Black, the reigning Marcus Ashcroft Medallist for best on ground in QClash, will make his return for the Lions on Saturday after being given medical clearance to play - in what will be his 299th AFL game.

Black injured his hand against Carlton in Round 2 and was given an original prognosis of 3-4 weeks on the sidelines, but a quicker than expected recovery time has seen Black named in the starting 22.

Black has been joined by Jack Crisp in the squad after the country Victorian product was elevated from the rookie list in place of the injured Matthew Leuenberger (Achilles) and will make his debut on Saturday.

Crisp comes to the Lions from the Murray Bushrangers and showed promising form in the NAB Cup with his speed, tackling ability and attack on the football.

Crisp has been likened to fellow ex-Bushranger and 2011 Club Champion Tom Rockliff - both slipped through the National Draft in their respective years and look set for promising futures with the Lions.

The two other inclusions for the Lions this week are veteran ruckman Ben Hudson and key forward Aaron Cornelius, with Claye Beams, Jesse O’Brien and Billy Longer all omitted from the side.

The Lions full Round 4 team is as follows:
