LAST TIME THEY MET
The Lions started 2011 with an agonising two-point loss to Fremantle, and were desperate to atone in Round 2 when they travelled to Melbourne to face the Bulldogs.
The Lions started well, with five inside 50s to none in the opening minutes, but both teams struggled to score until the 11-minute mark, where Barry Hall opened the Bulldogs account.
From there, there was no looking back for the Bulldogs as they took charge of the game to lead at every break, culminating in a 78-point win for the home team.
Matthew Boyd and Ryan Griffen starred for the Bulldogs, while defensive general Jed Adcock amassed 26 disposals for the Lions to be best on ground for the visitors.
Brownlow Medal Votes: 3 - M. Boyd (WB), 2 - R. Griffen (WB), 1 - D. Cross (WB)
