Do you have any games that will stick in your mind forever?
Dylan from Jimboomba
One game that sticks in my mind is my first game, because I only played three minutes. I was very lucky that Des Headland came off with a cramp so I got on for three minutes and then spent the rest of the time on the bench. The 03 Grand Final was definitely one as well.
Hi Ash, in the modern era of football these days I have noticed that a lot of players take great pride in their appearances on and off the field. By this I mean most AFL footballers seem to have their hair beautifully sculpted for a match and by the last quarter not a hair has moved, do you think that AFL footballers are becoming too metro sexual these days?
Colin from Perth (WA)
Hi Colin. Yeah, I’ve noticed a lot of boys get around in jeans that are tighter than Skins. I don’t know how they get their wallets out. On the hair - Brent Staker is a main offender there. His hair doesn’t move from the start to finish of a game. One day I might mess it up just before we run out just for a laugh. Keep an eye out.
Hi Ash! I was watching this week’s Lions videos and noticed that you have a reputation for telling good and bad jokes. Could you tell us one of your best jokes?
Jessica from Macgregor (QLD)
I don’t think I tell any bad jokes Jessica. All my jokes are great.
Hey Ash, I was up at the Reserves game on the weekend and ran into Luke Power and Jamie Charman there. I also remember earlier in the year seeing Staker and Adcock at one of the games. Are you guys made to go or do you choose to?
Joel from Stanthorpe (QLD)
No, it’s not compulsory, but we like to go along to show our support for the Reserves. If we play Saturday night and they play Sunday, most of us go along.
Who's the smartest person in the club?
James from Chermside (QLD)
James Polkinghorne is on a quest to find that out at the moment actually James. Check out his Brain Busters videos. Come season’s end we’ll know! There’s a few dumb blokes at the Club though. I’ll let you have a guess as to who the dumbest is… and I’ll leave it at that except to say that he’s a ruckman.
Hey Ash! Just wondering, have you ever been so sore/stiff the next day from a gym session/strength and conditioning? And also what is your favourite Powerade flavour! :)
Emily from Ferny Hills (QLD)
Hi Emily, no, our conditioning sessions are structured so that you don’t go overboard and become sore. My favourite Powerade flavour is red.
Heya Boonj! Can you please tell Joel Patfull to shave his head, it would do him a favour! Especially with the girls! The hair he has going looks kinda goofy! Also, who gets the most attention when it comes to girls? Which of the boys get swamped by girls?
Ashlin from Balwyn North (VIC)
I will definitely tell him that Ashlin. I have told him to shave his head MANY times, but he thinks he’s got a good thing going. He thinks the girls love it. So I will show him your question. We call him “Trumpy” because his fringe looks like it’s been stuck on like Donald Trump.
I’d say Todd Banfield goes alright with the attention from the girls. I think it’s the red hair and blonde eyebrows that the girls feel sorry for.
As someone who works heavily with computers, I was wondering how many IT gurus/nerds are amongst the playing group?
Kerryn from Toowoomba (QLD)
James Polkinghorne is an IT nerd. He knows how to do just about anything on a Mac. He can even nearly make money come out of it he’s that good. If anyone ever has a virus or anything on their computer they always take it to James.
When you guys have a win and come and give footies to the crowd afterwards, why do you only give it to the people along the boundary? Show us some love in the upper tier!
Lucy from Brisbane (QLD)
Hi Lucy, we usually look for the kids and give out the footies to the young fans. We aren’t actually allowed to throw them up high because of safety reasons. So you guys have to miss out!
