Mitch Golby: Hey Jackson, definitely Eddie Betts and Carlton. He took grab of the year on me too which wasn’t so great
Michael: Hey Mitch! Massive congrats on the NAB Rising Star nomination! Were you surprised when you heard?
Mitch Golby: Thanks a lot. Yeah, was a little shocked but pretty stoked. Pumped we had the big win too
John H: Is your confidence growing with every game after your terrible injuries?
Mitch Golby: Yeah, it’s no worries now. I have full confidence in my body
Guest: Hey Mitch, Do you listen to music before a game and if so what's your favourite game day rev-up song?
Mitch Golby: Yeah, on the way to the game. There’s no one song in particular, but the band Rise Against gets me ready to go…
Jason: Hey Mitch, congrats on your well-deserved RS nomination! I've noticed that despite looking pretty laid back much of the time you're actually deceptively quick. How many of your team-mates have got you beat for pace?
Mitch Golby: Toddy Banfield likes to think he does…and he definitely does. Ha!
Jackson: Hey Mitch, firstly you’re in really good form and I wanted to congratulate you on the NAB Rising Star nomination.
Mitch Golby: Thanks Jackson
Jane: Hi Mitch, do you live with any of the other boys? If so, who?
Mitch Golby: I live with Ryan Harwood and Cal Bartlett. Solid household - plenty of fun
Leah: Hey Mitch - I saw on Twitter the other day that you were playing golf - who do you play with and who is the best/worst?
Mitch Golby: I played with Zorko and Aaron Cornelius. Unfortunately I was the worst. Can’t hit ‘em straight. Ha!
Geoff: I hear you’re from Bass in Victoria - where on earth is that? Do you always spend extra time in Victoria when you are down for Melbourne Games??
Mitch Golby: It’s a little country town about 1.5 hours from Melbourne - not too far from Phillip Island
Jackson: Do you guys think you will win against the Roos on Sunday? You guys played amazing last week against GWS. Do you think you have cemented your spot in the senior team now?
Mitch Golby: Yeah I’m confident we can win, just have to keep playing consistent footy throughout the game. I can never be too sure and get too comfortable, so I’ll just keep trying to play good footy
Jane: Who is the messiest housemate? I think Ryan might be a bit of a grub....
Mitch Golby: Yeah Ryan is the messiest, but Cal isn’t far behind…
Jackson: How far away is Bartlett from debuting?
Mitch Golby: He’s been playing well in the twos, so hopefully not too far away. We’ll have to see what happens I suppose
Jason: How are your FIFA skills? Cal seems to talk a big game...
Mitch Golby: FIFA skills are right up there with the best. Cal and I have good battles. Karnezis is the one to beat lately
Frank: Hiya Mitchy, the Reserves went bunta against GWS Reserves on the weekend, what would you say was their best advantage on the day? Do you think it was just a lack of experience for the opposition that gave them such a resounding win?
Mitch Golby: I didn’t see the game, but by the sound of things our boys played really well together and moved the ball well.
Jane: So you're pretty clean then? Your mum would be proud!!
Mitch Golby: Yeah, she should be! I try to keep a tidy household
Jim: What has been the biggest challenge of playing consistent AFL footy as compared to NEAFL?
Mitch Golby: Probably just the skill level of the blokes you’re playing on. Can’t afford to switch off for even a second on a lot of the AFL small forwards
Guest: Who's your favourite sportsman/woman outside of AFL?
Mitch Golby: Michael Clarke - love watching cricket in the summer
Steve: Who is your favourite band??
Mitch Golby: Rise Against
Jackson: Important Question - which is better the Rockliff Challenge/Street Talk or Footy Fix?
Mitch Golby: Can’t answer that one - either Charmo or Rocky would belt me up if I picked one
Jason: Rumour has it you like fishing. Had any luck? Must be a bit more fun up here than down south? Brrr.
Mitch Golby: Harwood thinks he’s the real fisherman, but i don’t mind getting out for a little bit here and there. I caught a small shark not too long ago. Yeah, the weather is much nicer up here for it.
Tim: Where do you see yourself playing in the future? Do you prefer to be down back or do you see yourself becoming a midfielder?
Mitch Golby: Pretty happy playing down back at the moment. I’m just happy to play wherever I’m put and if that’s eventually midfield, I’ll try and take that challenge on
Jackson: How is Polks?
Mitch Golby: Polks is fine, no dramas
Jackson: Who are your closest mates at the Club?
Mitch Golby: Callum Bartlett, Ryan Harwood and Bryce Retzlaff I’d say
Dominica: Hi Mitch, do you cook much for the other boys in your house?
Mitch Golby: We take it in turns mostly. Cal was the worst to begin, but he has improved now so it’s not too bad. The take-away gets a bit of a workout.
Jason: Which position did you play as a junior?
Mitch Golby: Mostly midfield and half forward. But played half back from U18s onwards
Tim: I noticed you pulled-up in the 4th against GWS and go off for what seemed like 5 - 10 mins. Cramp?
Mitch Golby: Yeah, just a little cramp. Nothing major to worry about.
Dominica: I hope your nutritionists don't see this! They might not be too happy with take-out...
Mitch Golby: It’s healthy take out of course ;-)
Paul: Hey Mitch, are you into Dream Team? Who is/would be on your team?
Mitch Golby: I do Super Coach - Pendlebury is my Captain, a good former Gippsland Power player
Jackson: Why are Richy’s nicknames ‘Boom Boom’ and ‘Cheese’?
Mitch Golby: It’s Bam Bam, because he looks like Bam Bam off the Flintstones
Jackson: Still get subway pre game?
Mitch Golby: Yeah, most of the time. Ha.
Paul: Any Lions make the cut in your DT? Do you put yourself in if you think you're up for a blinder?
Mitch Golby: I’ve got Adcock, Longer, Lester and Zorko. I also had myself this week, I’ll trade myself shortly before the price drops
Mike: Which Club did you support growing up?
Mitch Golby: I went for Richmond as a youngster
Tim: What’s the best part about living in Brisbane?
Mitch Golby: Would have to be the weather in winter - UNBELIEVABLE
