Around 5,000 fans across two States enjoyed the company of Lions players over the past two weeks courtesy of the Club’s Family Fun Days in both Brisbane and Victoria.

The Family Fun Day in Brisbane was held on Saturday 12 February at the Roma Street Parklands and featured a range of activities including jumping castles, junior clinics and a kids zone.

Players spent time mingling with supporters and signing autographs and a selection even took part in a fashion parade to display the latest range of KooGa apparel.

Children from flood affected areas were also invited to present the players with their 2011 guernseys up on stage.

Last Saturday at Etihad Stadium, the travelling team caught up with their Victorian fans the morning after their NAB Cup matches in Melbourne.

While the results from the night before were not ideal, spirits remained high as kids and adults alike had the opportunity to spend time with their football heroes.

The team were presented with their 2011 guernseys by a host of past players - including George Coates, Eddie Goodger, Simon Hawking, Grant Lawrie, Beau McDonald, Anthony McGregor, Lee Murnane, Kevin Murray, John Newnham, Martin Pike, Chris Johnson, Duane Rowe, Troy Selwood, Laurie Serafini, Bill Stephen, Ross Thornton, Mark Trewella, Darren ‘Doc’ Wheildon and Ray Slocum.

Fans were able to visit the players’ changerooms at Etihad Stadium, check out some of the Club’s historical trophies and memorabilia including three of Fitzroy’s premiership cups and participate in a handball competition.

Both events were a huge success and would not have been possible without the support of the Lions fans who attended.

The Club would also like to thank all the Lions sponsors for being involved on the day and helping to engage our fans with unique competitions and giveaways.

Keep posted for more fan events throughout the season.
