FAST FOOTY FACTS
The Brisbane Lions play the Sydney Swans each year for AFL’s official Rivalry Round as the competition’s genuine two-town teams.

The Swans have twice restricted the Lions’ attack to just 6.4 (40) in the last three years – the Club’s record lowest tally against Sydney. The Lions have not managed to kick more than 11 goals against the Swans in any of their last six encounters.

Adam Goodes has polled eight Brownlow Medal votes in his past four matches against the Lions.

The Lions have not defeated Sydney since Round 1 of 2004 in the AFL Premiership. The Swans have won six and drawn one of their last seven clashes with the Lions. However, the Lions did defeat the Swans at Manuka Oval (ACT) in their last NAB Challenge game earlier this year.

Lions co-captain Luke Power leads the AFL with 15 tackles after two rounds while team-mate Simon Black is the competition’s equal leader in contested possessions with 23.

LAST TIME THEY MET
Lions kingpin Jonathan Brown’s monster goal just seconds before the full-time siren snatched a dramatic draw with Sydney in a Gabba thriller that kept the Lions’ slim finals hopes alive.

Brown was magnificent with four goals and received wonderful support from Jed Adcock, Tim Notting, Nigel Lappin, Jason Roe and 2006 draftee Matthew Leuenberger.

Leuenberger was forced to shoulder the ruck load when Jamie Charman left the field with a calf strain, and battled valiantly against the experienced combination of Peter Everitt and Darren Jolly, further stamping himself as a player of the future.

Brownlow Medal Votes: 3 - J. Brown (BL), 2 - A. Goodes (Syd), 1 - M. Leuenberger (BL)
