The Brisbane Lions today proudly unveiled insurance giant, Suncorp Group’s brand Vero as the Club’s co-major sponsor for the next four years.
Lions CEO, Malcolm Holmes, was joined by Suncorp Group Commercial Insurance CEO, Anthony Day, in making the major announcement at the Gabba.
The partnership will see the Vero logo feature on the front of Lions’ home guernsey - as well as on the back of the away and clash guernseys, stadium signage and Club media and marketing collateral, until at least the end of the 2016 AFL season.
Brisbane’s Vero Coaching Group - headed by Senior Coach Michael Voss - will continue to be aligned with Vero for the next four years, while selected event naming rights also form part of the partnership.
“This is clearly a very significant announcement for the Brisbane Lions,” Mr Holmes said.
“We’re extremely delighted to be associated with an organisation such as Vero and proud of this partnership.
“Vero has been a tremendous partner of this Club over the past 12 months as naming rights partner of the Vero Coaching Group and we have been proud of the value that has been delivered for them.
“We look forward to continuing this work for the next four years and hopefully beyond.”
Suncorp Group Commercial Insurance CEO, Anthony Day, said: “This is a significant partnership for Vero, providing the brand with widespread national public exposure through the association with the most popular and fastest growing sport in Australia.
“This major sponsorship is part of Suncorp’s commercial insurance arm’s strategy to focus on both brokers and end customers.
“From the general insurance broker perspective, the high brand awareness should increase customer demand and ensure greater customer recognition when brokers are recommending Vero.”
The Vero logo will be seen on every Brisbane player when the Lions kick-start pre-season training on November 5.
Vero is one of Australia’s largest and most successful intermediated general insurance brands, offering insurance solutions through brokers.
Senior Coach Michael Voss and midfielders Simon Black, Tom Rockliff, Daniel Rich and Jack Redden were also in attendance for the launch, ahead of pre-season training that resumes on Monday.
