The Brisbane Lions wish to congratulate Ben Hudson and his wife Rita on the safe arrival of their second son - Stirling Frankie Hudson.

Stirling was born at approximately 5:45pm on Tuesday afternoon, and mother and baby are doing well.

The pending arrival had Hudson on ‘red alert’ during the Lions’ Round 17 match against Gold Coast last Saturday. He can now fly to Perth to face West Coast this weekend comfortable with the knowledge that his newest child has arrived safely.

Lions teammate Jesse O'Brien and Ruck Coach Jamie Charman have already passed on their congratulations to Hudson via Twitter:

Jesse O'Brien: Congrats to big Huddo on his newest arrival to the family. #willbeabigkid #bornwithabeard

Jamie Charman: Benny Hudson New Father/Son for @brisbanelions. Only 90 games to go! #juniorlumberjack

Stirling is the Hudson’s second child, after they welcomed son Ignatius back in 2010.

Congratulations to both Ben and Rita on the latest addition to their family!
