The morning after the team’s disappointing Round 6 loss to Richmond at the MCG, the Brisbane Lions players made a stop by the Club’s spiritual home in Victoria - the Brunswick Street Oval - to spend some valuable time with their Melbourne-based player sponsors before heading back to Queensland.

The event - which remains one of the most popular on the Victorian calendar - gave all player sponsors an opportunity to chat with their chosen player, and others, in the comfort and intimacy of the Brunswick Street Oval community room.

None of the player sponsors - or players for that matter - went hungry as Luckman Catering whipped up a ton of delicious food which ended up being shared with those outside the function who were at the venue to observe the junior members clinic which ran at the same time.

The Lions players mingled for more than 90 minutes before returning to the bus for their trip back to Brisbane.

Every player sponsor was spoilt for time with the players which included Captain Jonathan Brown who’d made a special visit to Melbourne to be there.

Sure enough, Luckman Catering even catered for Browny’s facial injury by supplying him with home-made duck soup!
