LIONS v GWS HEAD TO HEAD
This will be the Lions’ first match against competition newcomers GWS.
FAST FOOTY FACTS
GWS are no stranger to former Lions’ personnel. Luke Power played 282 games in 14 seasons with the Lions, and is currently serving as both a player and assistant coach with the Giants, while former Lions staff members Graeme Allan and Craig Lambert are also currently filling off-field roles with GWS.
GWS big-name recruit Israel Folau is a household name in Brisbane, albeit for playing in a different code of football, and this weekend will mark his first return to his former city.
Both the Lions and GWS will be coming off an 8-day break when they face each other this Sunday.
This weekend will mark the first in a string of Sunday afternoon games for the Lions, with the next three matches against GWS, North Melbourne and West Coast Eagles all scheduled for Sundays, with the Lions' Bye scheduled for Round 11.
