Fitzroy alive in Finals race
Melbourne-based Lions fans are encouraged to head out and support Fitzroy FC this Saturday in ther VAFA Final against Parkdale
Fitzroy FC - who compete in the Premier C Division of the VAFA - are well placed for an assault on a premiership after finishing second on the ladder at the end of the regular season.
The position was shored up following a resounding 188-point victory over the Hampton Rovers last weekend.
Fitzroy FC will now face the Parkdale Vultures in their first Final at 2pm this Saturday 8 September at Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham.
The Fitzroy FC Thirds (who play St Kevins @ 9:15am) and Reserves (who play Marcellin @ 11:40am) will also feature in curtain raisers before the senior match.
Melbourne-based Lions fans looking to satisfy their footy fix are encouraged to head out and support the Club’s amateur affiliate this Saturday. A win will not only secure Fitzroy FC a spot in the Grand Final, but also see them promoted to Premier B Division next year.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the Brisbane Lions’ sponsored player Toby Hudson-Bevege, who has returned to the senior team just in time for Finals.
Some of Fitzroy FC’s other key players include former Sydney Swans premiership player Luke Ablett, Reds stalwart James O'Reilly, Captain Rory Angeliella, Jack Parkinson and Chris Polidoras.
The Brisbane Lions AFC extends its best wishes to Fitzroy FC on their quest towards the Premier C Division premiership.
