Lions Injury Update
The Brisbane Lions today received confirmation on the major injuries sustained from last weekend.
Defender Ashley McGrath has suffered a grade two tear in his right hamstring which is expected to keep him sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks while fellow defender Matt Maguire's MRI scans revealed he has tendonitis in his left foot which will require him to take a rest period of between 2-4 weeks.
Scans also confirmed that 2009 draftee Callum Bartlett ruptured the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in his right knee during the Lions Reserves' match against Aspley last Sunday.
The 18 year-old will undergo his second full knee reconstruction in as many years after he ruptured his left ACL in April last year.
Bartlett is certainly a candidate for the LARS surgery, but is still expected to miss the remainder of the 2010 AFL Season.
