“It’s a great response from the local community and we’re really pleased to be able to bring live AFL to the Sunshine Coast this year,” AFL Queensland Acting CEO Mark Browning said.

“We’re expecting a crowd of 5,000 people for the match and to sell so many tickets in just over two weeks is fantastic. It certainly sends a strong message about the interest in our game,” he said.

As it’s the first ever AFL game on the Sunshine Coast, AFL Queensland staff have worked hard with stakeholders including Council and the Police to ensure all aspects of the event operation are smooth and successful. The venue capacity was set at 5,000 people for public comfort and good viewing.
