AFL Head of Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said the league would continue to take the advice of governments and health officials and work closely with each stakeholder across the competition as it worked through fixtures for upcoming rounds.
“We will continue to remain adaptable as we listen to and work closely with each stakeholder to ensure the best possible outcome for everyone in the game,” Ms Livingstone said.
“While COVID-19 continues to impact the community, the health and welfare of our players and the community remains the priority and we remain committed to delivering a full season in a safe manner led by respective governments, public health officials and medical experts."
“While relocation of teams was strongly considered, through close and continued consultation and feedback from players, the AFLPA and clubs, the option to proceed with a return match was deemed to be the best option for the competition at this stage of the season.
“On behalf of the AFL, I want to again thank all clubs, players and the AFLPA, umpires, venues, governments, ticket agents and our broadcast and commercial partners for their understanding and continued support of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition. I also want to acknowledge the ongoing support from the AFLW football community this season through memberships, attendances and broadcasts.”
Tickets for the clash will be on-sale from Thursday, March 4th at the 11am for Members. 12pm for General Public.
