Brisbane will head back to Metricon Stadium for tomorrow night’s clash with Richmond with three changes to the side that lost to St Kilda there last week.
Ruck-forward Tom Fullarton comes into the side to replace Eric Hipwood who underwent a knee reconstruction this week after rupturing his ACL against the Saints.
Marcus Adams is also unavailable after due to a stress reaction in his foot and has been replaced by reliable defender Ryan Lester who makes his return from a hamstring injury suffered against Melbourne in Round 12.
Lester played his first game back in the VFL against Southport on Sunday.
Lions GM of Football Danny Daly said the changes followed Senior Coach Chris Fagan’s long-standing practice of making like-for-like changes.
“Generally, with our team we go like-for-like, we like to hold our structure,’’ he said.
“Froggy Lester played last week in the VFL, so he’ll come straight back into the side for Marcus.
“And with Hippy also going out, like-for-like again, young Tom Fullarton who played a few games early in the season will get another opportunity to prove himself on the big stage.
“So, we’re really looking forward to both those boys coming in and playing their role for the team.’’
The Lions have made one other change with Jaxon Prior replacing Callum Ah Chee.
Ah Chee and his partner Lauren welcomed their first child into the world on Thursday and he has been granted the weekend off to spend with his new family.
“Cal won’t play, he elected to stay home with his fiancé, which was our advice to him as well,’’ Daly said.
“It is a great moment for him in his life to have a new baby.’’
