From the CEO
To our loyal Victorian members,
We are as disappointed as you that we can’t put on a show on the MCG for you tomorrow night. It had been a long time coming and we flew down to Melbourne yesterday with plenty of hope and expectation around our clash with Richmond.
It’s with a heavy heart that on the back of the most recent Victorian Government announcement, we have today had to head back to Queensland with the AFL relocating our Round 18 match to Metricon Stadium.
We know this is another game that you’re unable to attend and the Club is working to finalise a compensation plan for our Victorian members that we will communicate once the season is played out in its entirety.
As you head into another lockdown, know that we’re thinking of you, that your unwavering support over the last year and a half is what has enabled us to continue to play footy and we hope that we’ve been able to reward your loyalty with something to cheer about.
The health and safety of our communities continues to be paramount as we navigate the season, and we appreciate the work that is being done by both the AFL and the Government to ensure we can keep playing.
We’ll see you down in Victoria as soon as we possibly can. In the meantime, stay safe and look after each other.
Regards,
Greg Swann
