NEAFL Premiership Captain Ryan Bastinac has been awarded the Neville Fallon award as the Brisbane Lions Reserves Best and Fairest for a second year in a row.
He was presented the award by his NEAFL Coach Mitch Hahn and Neville Fallon’s son Michael.
Bastinac, in his fourth year at the Lions, was instrumental in the NEAFL team’s unprecedented undefeated season.
The midfielder played in three senior games and 17 NEAFL matches in 2019.
The 28-year-old averaged 31.3 disposals and 3.6 tackles in the NEAFL competition. In the Semi Final against the Sydney Swans, ‘Basti’ had an equal season-high 41 disposals, six tackles and two goals. In the Grand Final win over the Southport Sharks he had 30 disposals, eight tackles and one goal.
Hahn, alongside Development Coaches Zane Littlejohn and Paul Henriksen have praised Bastinac’s leadership to the emerging players in the NEAFL group throughout the 2019 season.
