Joe Daniher went some way to silence his critics on Saturday, stepping up with two clutch goals in the second half to help the Lions secure a Top 4 finish.

Long criticised for his accuracy at goal and set shot routine, the explosive forward showed once again this season that he can stand up in the big moments.

Daniher breathed life into the Lion’s Top 4 ambition when he put up two crucial goals on the three-quarter time siren and in the fourth term.

His four goal effort on Saturday also saw the experienced forward become the only player to kick a goal in every home and away season since Daniher last did so back in 2017.

Averaging two goals a game at 51.1% accuracy, and having booted 11.5 in the past three weeks, Daniher looks to be in career-best goal kicking form heading into finals.

With the key forward continuing to show that he can step up and perform under pressure, fans have plenty to be excited about when they look towards the Saturday’s qualifying final.
