The AFL advises it has revised the fixture for Rounds Seven and Eight of the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Competition.

Changes have been made to timeslots of matches to ensure adequate days’ break for teams as a result of recent changes to the fixture.

The Q-Clash will take place in Round Seven with the Gold Coast SUNS vs. Brisbane Lions
at Metricon Stadium on Thursday, February 17.

This match-up was originally scheduled to take place in Round Three but did not proceed due to multiple players in AFL Health and Safety Protocols at the time.

As a result, the Lions' originally fixtured Round 7 match against Melbourne will shift to Monday February 21 at Metricon Stadium.

The side will then head to Perth for their NAB Indigenous Round clash against West Coast in Round 8.

Clubs scheduled to travel in and out of Western Australia will abide by strict travel
arrangements and all other protocols as approved by the Western Australian Government and relevant health officials. Charter flights remain in place for all team travel in the NAB AFLW Competition.

AFL General Manager Competition Management Laura Kane said the league thanked everyone in the NAB AFLW Competition for their ongoing commitment to the season.

“We are pleased to be able to update the AFLW community with the revised fixture for rounds seven and eight of the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Competition,” Ms. Kane said.

“While the ongoing pandemic continues to impact and challenge our competition and our wider community, we want to thank every AFLW Club, players and the AFLPA, umpires, venues, governments, ticketing agents and all supporters for their understanding and commitment to the season.

“We look forward to a festival of football from Round Seven with nine games across seven days while Round Eight, the NAB AFLW Indigenous Round, is a truly significant round that provides further opportunity for the competition to continue to celebrate and learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players and staff in our game.

“The health and safety of the community remains the highest priority for the AFL and we will continue to work closely with respective state governments and health authorities on arrangements that both protects that and allows us to progress the NAB AFLW season.”
