Describing the Lions’ performance against West Coast as “poor,” Rockliff said that the focus would shift quickly to this weekend’s match.
The 12th-placed Tigers are sitting just above the Lions on the ladder.
“They’ve been up and down a little bit, like us,” Rockliff said.
“They’ve probably lost a couple that they could have won and I think they were in a winning position again on the weekend and got rolled in the last minute or so.”
“So it’s going to be a hard-fought contest this week.”
Both teams have seven wins for the year (with Richmond holding the edge on percentage), and the Tigers will come to the Gabba hungry for a win, having lost its past three matches by less than a goal.
However, Rockliff said that Richmond’s situation would have no bearing on the Lions’ preparation this week.
“To be honest, we’ve got to fix things in our mob and not worry so much about what they’re doing, and get our game going first.”
