A Grand Final spot is on the line for the Brisbane Lions VFL side this Saturday when they face the Casey Demons in the Smithy’s VFL Preliminary Final.
Coming off a thrilling 12-point win over Carlton in last weekend’s Semi Final, the Lions will need to overcome one of the toughest sides in the competition this Saturday if they want to earn their place in the 2022 Smithy’s VFL Grand Final.
Hardened midfielder Mitch Robinson will return to the VFL side for Saturday’s Preliminary Final.
The experienced footballer last played in the side against Casey in Round 22, gathering a whopping 42 disposals, 11 marks, 10 clearances and six tackles to help the Lions hand the undefeated minor premiers their sole loss of the home and away season.
Named in the changes to Saturday’s side alongside Robinson is Rhys Mathieson, Jaxon Prior and Toby Triffett, with father-son prospect Darryl McDowell White (Concussion) and Jarryd Lyons (Groin) set to miss.
Mathieson will provide an added boost of physicality and pressure to Saturday’s elimination final, while Prior strengthens an already formidable Lions’ defence.
