Our first home game at the Gabba saw us up against North Melbourne and our boys put up a good fight early on in the game.
The boys had an impressive opening quarter and a half against North Melbourne, leading by four points at the first break and creating a string of opportunities early in the second term off the back of hard running and slick ball movement in front of 18,021 fans.
Coming back from suspension, Dayne Zorko put his best foot forward and was undeniably best on ground in the first half for the Lions with 15 possessions at 85 per cent efficiency (24 possessions in total) and two goals.
The “Mozzie Squad” were reunited and were back to their best with Lewy “Squizzy” Taylor buzzing around the forward line and kicking 3 goals while Green managed 9 disposals and 2 goals.
