It’s going to be an interesting game for our boys this weekend as they clash with the Western Bulldogs who are looking to play finals.
Lions Stoppage Strategy Coach Danny Daly said they play a free flowing game and for us, there’s no better opportunity to score against a side like the Dogs.
“We’ve been playing some good footy, about 100 goals in two games,” said Daly.
“We won’t be holding back and we’ll be relying on our ball man to kick another 100 points.

According to Daly, the Dogs display strength throughout every line with a fair few key players on the list.
“In their backline, they rely on their run and (Easton) Wood across their halfback has been solid for them.
“Through the mid-field they have the likes of (Marcus) Bontempelli, who has had a terrific second year for himself and Macrae who’s also had a good second year for himself.
“Down forward, (Jake) Stringer has been kicking goals every week and (Tory) Dickson kicked 30 odd goals for them.”
With great strength throughout every line, Daly said the boys will need to match them on contested balls.
“Our ability to match them on contested ball is another challenge for the group this week – they’re a very good contested ball side,” said Daly.
“If we can win contested ball it’ll give us an opportunity to get our ball movement again.

And the biggest thing for us this weekend?
“Our intensity of the contest and effort.
“If we can put some heat on the opposition, it’ll give us an opportunity to score this week and hopefully get a win.”
