The Giants have overrun the Brisbane Lions by 35 points in a high-scoring affair at the Gabba on Saturday.

Challenged on many occasions, especially in the third quarter, the Giants were comfortable winners in the end, finishing 22.14 (146) to 18.3 (111) victors.

Giants coach Adam Schnieder said put his team’s rich vein of form down to the continuity his team has been able to grow over the last month.

“I’m just pleased the boys got the win and got a bit more continuity together, which makes a huge difference in our team,” he told neafl.com.au.

“Our players have now played together for the last four or five games which does make it a bit easier.”

It certainly wasn’t comfortable in the third, with the Giants only holding a lead by four points 10 minutes into the term.

Brisbane were coming early in the quarter, kicking four of the first five goals after trailing by 22 points at half-time.

But the Giants responded to kicked four of the last six of the quarter to head in to the last quarter with a handy buffer.

In the final term, the Giants ensured they travelled back to Sydney victors kicking six goals to four, taking them to their fourth win in a row.

It was a huge turnaround from the clash between the two sides, two months ago where the Lions smashed the Giants by 97 points at Spotless Stadium in Round 4.

Schnieder said his side came to Brisbane with a point to prove and they delivered.

“We came out here with a mission and did everything possible to get the win,” he said.

“To get a win like that is fantastic, but it is all about knuckling down and continuing the good work.”

Harry Perryman was the stand out for the Giants with 32 disposals and four goals after being dropped from the AFL side during the week.

“To get dropped during the week and play like that is great. He worked his bottom off today and his four goals was a reward for effort, he is a jet,” Schneider said.

Nick Shipley, Aidan Bonar and Matt Flynn were sensational in the engine room for the Giants, winning the hit-outs, clearances and inside 50s comprehensively.

Giants Academy player Liam Delahunty was terrific with four goals, and Zach Sproule was a great target up forward with three.

Lachie Keeffe was also solid, playing the majority of the game on the wing with 22 disposals and two goals.

Despite losing, the Lions had some terrific contributions from Cedric Cox on the half-back flank, Jacob Allison in the middle and Ben Keays up forward.

Mitch Hinge continued his strong vein of form and Claye Beams (31 disposals, four goals) was impressive in his return from injury.

The Lions were hampered with Toby Wooller and Sam Skinner on limited time, as well as Ryan Bastinac coming off in the last.

Although not having the greatest impact on the game, Wooller and Skinner’s return to the side was a huge boost to the side.

“It was enormous for the group,” Lions coach Mitch Hahn said.

It was overall though, a very disappointing match for the Lions who now slump to their fourth loss in a row.

“We had opportunities where it got close and nearly got in front a couple of times,” Hahn said.

“They had a lot more inside 50s, and contested footy, and we just didn’t use the ball as well as we would’ve liked today.”

Next week will be a huge game for the Lions when they travel to Sydney to take on the Swans who have been in great form.

The Giants will also be playing in Sydney next week, playing the Aspley Hornets at Spotless Stadium.
