After a challenging year with injury, Zac Bailey played 15 games in the Lions senior team in 2019 and enjoyed an impressive 11-4 win to loss ratio during that time.
The agile defender averaged 12 disposals per game in 2019, with his highlight game occurring against the Gold Coast SUNS where he kicked 2 goals and had 18 disposals. Bailey also had a career-high 19 disposals against North Melbourne in Round 2 of the 2019 season.
Bailey spoke on The Roar Deal earlier this year about his growing confidence around the club,
“Coming into this year I really opened up a bit”, he said.
“I’ve made some really good mates around the club now.
As well as building new friendships, Bailey was fortunate enough to accelerate his learning in the Lions backline from recently retired 346-game veteran Luke Hodge, as well as the 2019 All-Australian fullback Harris Andrews, proving that he had what it takes to keep his spot in the 22-man Senior team.
The future is certainly bright for the 20-year-old, who is contracted with the Lions until 2021.
