While the Brisbane Lions players were sidelined this weekend by torrential rain in Mackay, the Lions' Women of the Pride roared, winning the Highest Corporate Fundraising Team at this year's Mater Chicks in Pink International Women's Day Fun Run.

12,000 entrants pounded the pavement yesterday in anticipation of International Women’s Day, raising funds for the treatment of, and research into, breast cancer. Money raised will go towards improving the lives of the women diagnosed and supporting those around them.

The Women of the Pride will meet again on Friday, March 18 for their annual WOP Lunch held at the Grandview Room, Hillstone, St Lucia.
