Queenslander Tom Bell is raring to go in his first QClash, saying the Lions are determined to rebound against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns.
“We are not a team to be messed with. The boys are raring to go,’’ Bell told The Courier-Mail.
Morningside-product Bell says he is relishing the prospect of his first local derby since returning from Carlton. He has been one of Brisbane’s best across the opening three rounds.
“The Gold Coast are playing some good footy at the moment but we’ve shown in patches this year that we can play some really good footy too,” said Bell.
“If we can get to work in the clearances and move the ball quickly, we can match it with them.’’
Bell said the focus for the Lions had to be on cutting mistakes.
“The turnovers are hurting us, it’s pretty obvious,’’ he said. “It felt like we took some big steps forward against West Coast and North Melbourne but we probably took a few steps backwards against Geelong.
“The good thing about footy is that there is always next week and we’ve moved on to the Gold Coast.’’
