The Lions will enter this year’s NAB AFL Draft armed with the second selection overall (Pick No.2).
Jacob Weitering (Dandenong Stingrays) and Josh Schache (Murray Bushrangers) have been touted as top two picks and while Schache was absent from this year’s Combine with injury (toe), Lions Recruiting Manager Steven Conole was pleased with the young Lions Academy talent who presented over the weekend.
“They’ve been terrific, all year, really.
“They keep fronting up, they’re resilient boys and I’m sure every club is watching pretty closely.”
Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy products Eric Hipwood, Mabior Chol, Ben Keays, Reuben William and Corey Wagner all attended this year’s Combine and showed exciting signs of their potential.
“It’ll be an interesting night come draft night to see where they fall,” Conole said.
