AS excitement builds for season 2015, Lions TV will re-live some of the Club’s best highlight’s of 2014 - one for each day until our Round One clash with Collingwood on April 4.
To kick off the series, we begin with Pearce Hanley’s clever footwork in Round 11 against Carlton.
In the first quarter of the Lions’ upset win at The Gabba, Hanley expertly flicked the footy off the ground with his boot into his arms, while running at full pace. The passage of play became an online sensation with fans.
Hanley told reporters at the time, it had nothing to do with the luck of the Irish but was simply the adaptation of a Gaelic football skill he had continued to work on since making the code swap as a rookie draft selection in 2008.
