New recruits Grant Birchall and Callum Ah Chee will play their first game in Brisbane Lions colours after being named in Assistant Coach Jed Adcock’s extended squad to play against Port Adelaide in Sunday’s Marsh Community Series clash. The pair have been named alongside each other in the half back line.

Third year player Connor Ballenden has earned a callup to senior footy and has been named in the forward line, alongside Dan McStay and Cam Rayner.

All five players who will play in the AFL’s State of Origin match for bushfire relief, will play in the first Marsh Community Series match.

Captain Dayne Zorko has been named at half forward, alongside Charlie Cameron and Eric Hipwood.  Vice-Captain Harris Andrews named in the backline, with Darcy Gardiner and Marcus Adams joining him there. 

Stefan Martin has been named as ruck, with Lachie Neale and Jarryd Lyons as followers.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen could also play his first official game for the Lions, after being named on Adcock’s extended interchange bench. Also named are Mitch Robinson, Ely Smith, Lincoln McCarthy, Connor McFadyen, Sam Skinner, Alex Witherden, Ryan Lester, Rhys Mathieson, Brandon Starcevich, Jack Payne and Oscar McInerney.

The final team will be named tomorrow afternoon.
