Redden accepts reprimand
Jack Redden has pleaded guilty to a tripping charge handed down by the AFL Match Review Panel.
Redden was charged with a Level Two tripping offence following an incident involving Gold Coast Captain Gary Ablett during the first quarter of the last Saturday night's historic QClash.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Gold Coast Suns, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points) and body contact (one point).
This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He had no existing good or bad record.
However, an early plea reduced the sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.
This means that Redden will still be available to face Essendon this Saturday night at the Gabba.
