THREE-time Brisbane Lions premiership player Luke Power has joined the AFL's laws of the game committee.

Power, 30, is a veteran of 241 games and will replace Brendon Gale on the panel after he stepped down last year to take over as chief executive at Richmond.

"I’m delighted to appoint Luke Power as a member of the laws committee," league football operations manager Adrian Anderson said on Wednesday.

"Luke is an outstanding player and person and I am confident he will be an excellent contributor."

Power joins Anderson (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Andrew McKay, Leigh Matthews, Matthew Pavlich, Rowan Sawers and Michael Sexton on the committee.
