With Michael Voss now in the Coaches Box and Leigh Matthews now in the Commentary Box, tickets selling at a frenzy, the weather cleared up and memories of our thrilling two point win over the Pies in the dying minutes of Round 2 last year still fresh in people's minds - it's about as big as AFL footy gets in Brisbane!
But wait there's more...
- Gates open at 3:40pm Friday afternoon for the Brisbane Lions Reserves v Northern Territory (new team) curtain raiser commencing at 3:50pm.
- Vodafone will again be staging their 'fan'-tastic Vodafone Entertainment Quarter (weather permitting) incorporating the traditional post-match 'kick-to-kick' on the Gabba field complete with a live band, footy clinics, handball targets, competitions, giveaways and a Kids Zone for the ankle-biters.
- Match-Day Sponsor Four'N Twenty is hosting a 'Grab A Grand' promotion where one winner found eating a Four'N Twenty pie during half-time will win $1,000! The winner will be selected by roving MC Greg Hinks and appear on the screen at half-time.
- The Vodafone marquee is back at the Gate 2 parklands with free fan banners and Vodafone Mobile Games for customers pre-match.
- Major Support Sponsor MBF (previously HBA) is hosting a national SMS competition at each home game with the eventual winner receiving a full Grand Final tickets package. Each home game winner will take home a match ball signed by Senior Coach Michael Voss and Captain Jonathan Brown. MBF staff will be positioned at Gates 2 and 7.
- Major Support Sponsor Bank of Queensland will have Grab Ads placed around some beverages at certain food and drink outlets around the ground promoting their 'Win a VIP Box' competition.
New and renewed members are also strongly advised to arrive early to collect their 2009 member caps and membership cards (if required) from the Membership marquee in the Gate 2 parklands on the corner of Main & Stanley Streets to avoid the expected queues.
GO LIONS!!
