The Brisbane Lions have named their final squad to take on Port Adelaide this Sunday, with the welcome news that Vice-Captain Jed Adcock will return to the side.
Adcock has been sidelined for the past two weeks after a broken finger required surgery - but he has recovered quickly and is fit to play on the weekend.
It will be a welcome return for the defensive ‘general’ in a backline that has had its share of bad luck in recent weeks, with two experienced backmen in Daniel Merrett and Josh Drummond still on the sidelines with injury.
Adcock will come in for Daniel Rich, who had a stress reaction in his foot in recent weeks and will miss the next 2-3 weeks - breaking his streak of 59 games since his debut in round 1 of 2009.
Also named in the team are recent debutants Niall McKeever, who impressed Lions selectors in Perth last weekend, and Patrick Karnezis, who would still be flying high with two solid performances including a debut against Richmond that included two goals from his first two kicks.
The final Lions team for Round 15 is below:
B: Niall McKeever (40), Matt Maguire (36), Jed Adcock (7)
HB: Pearce Hanley (11), Joel Patfull (24), Ash McGrath (9)
