Off the back of Lions stalwart, Sharni Webb’s, announcement yesterday that she would sit the 2021 AFLW Season out to have her first baby, the Club has today confirmed that Coolangatta product Beth Pinchin would replace her on the list.
A handy defender, Pinchin's bid to be drafted has previously been thwarted by knee injuries.
The 24-year-old has previously Co-Captained the Gold Coast's SUNS 2018 Winter Series squad.
Lions Senior Coach, Craig Starcevich, said they were excited for a player of Pinchin's caliber to come into the team.
“Beth has been unlucky with injury in the past but has come back and had a really strong state-league season with Coolangatta in 2020” he said.
“We look forward to seeing what she can do this year.
“She’s a good intercept mark, uses the ball well by foot and can read the game really well.
“Most importantly, Beth is a great person off-field and displays strong leadership qualities that we will continue to help her develop.”
Beth will wear the #32 guernsey in 2021.
