The Brisbane Lions have made six changes ahead of their clash with Collingwood on Friday night at the Gabba.
Justin Clarke, Marco Paparone, Billy Longer, Jack Crisp, Ryan Harwood and Patrick Karnezis have all been named in the Lions side for the Club’s first and only Friday night game of the year.
The Lions will be without Co-Captain, Jonathan Brown, who was unsuccessful at contesting his striking charge at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night, and will miss two matches.
Matthew Leuenberger (thumb) and Tom Rockliff (quad) are also notable absentees after being injured in last week’s clash with Carlton. Sam Mayes (general soreness), Jordan Lisle (omitted) and Josh Green (omitted) are the other outs for the Lions.
Jack Crisp comes into the side after his best on ground performance last week in the Brisbane Lions Reserves. Harwood, Paparone, Longer and Karnezis were also big contributors in the Reserves’ win over the Southport Sharks, whilst Clarke returns after a week’s suspension.
The Friday night blockbuster will be Michael Voss’ 100th AFL Game as the Brisbane Lions’ Senior Coach , while Simon Black will play his 318th AFL game and equal Marcus Aschroft as the Brisbane AFL games record holder. In 2012 Black became the first player in VFL/AFL history to have played 300 games, won a Brownlow, been part of a Premiership, and won a Norm Smith Medal.
The Lions will wear their limited edition 3-Peat 'Hero' guernsey this week for the second and final time this season, after they wore it in their Round 8 victory over the Bombers.
